Elimination Blackjack
Most poker players loves to play blackjack. But to play normal casino blackjack online is not a good idea. If you play perfect basic strategy, and not many are, you will still lose something like 0.5 percent of your turnover to the casino. And card counting strategies which can make you a winner at off line casinos wont work online. But there is another form of online blackjack where you can be a winner in the long run if you takes the time to learn the game, Blackjack tournaments. The rules are the same as in regular casino blackjack but in the tourneys you play against other players and not the house. The objective of the game is to win more chips than your opponents by the end of the tournament.
Each player starts with $25,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet in the preliminary round is $500. At the final table, you’ll start with $100,000 in tournament chips (this is also the maximum bet). The minimum bet at the final table is $1,000. Elimination Blackjack features a rotating marker. Action starts on the button and rotates clockwise every hand. You’ll have 25 seconds to make a decision. On Elimination Hands, you’ll have 10 seconds to decide what you want to do. Hands 8, 16, and 25 are Elimination Hands. The player with the least amount of chips on these hands will be eliminated. Each player is given one Secret Bet that can be used at any time. The secret bet allows you to place your bet without revealing it to the other players. Whoever has the most chips at the end of Hand 30 wins.
In the old format of blackjack tournaments, most players would wait until after the countdown at hand 25 of a 30-hand tournament round before making a move. In Elimination Blackjack, the short stack after hands 8,16 and 25 is eliminated, so waiting is not always a good strategy.
Bet your money The most important thing to remember is that it's generally better to be aggressive than timid.
Be aware of position Acting after an opponent is advantageous, so monitor the players nearest to your right. You can gain a big edge simply by staying ahead of one of the players to the right (you can match his bet if you are ahead).
Be willing to make unconventional plays You must be prepared to make plays you wouldn't make playing regular blackjack, especially on Elimination Hands or the last hand of a tournament. This might involve splitting tens or doubling on a hard 19. If you need more chips to advance, then make the play. Remember, you're not playing blackjack, you're playing tournament blackjack.
